I have always had a fascination with art since I can remember. Music, paintings and especially photography. I am a self-taught photographer. However, I think that title is a little misleading. I have learned this craft from many, many other wonderful artists who have been willing to help and share their knowledge over the years. My education in photography continues each and every time I pick up the camera. I primarily focus on wedding and portrait photography, but as long as a camera is in my hand, I will shoot just about anything. I have lived in Indianapolis since 1988 and I am a proud father and husband.
While I get great satisfaction from photography on a personal level, it's really all about my clients. It HAS to be about the client. The satisfaction that I get from someone's reaction to my images is what motivates me. The thing I like best about photography is that it is well, just plain fun. I am passionate about the art of Photography. This comes across when I am working with people. I love interacting with people whether it is in a formal setting or on the street. The object for me is to put people at ease and to have fun. There is no other way in my opinion.
I have had a lot of people ask me what my "style" is. I have spent a lot of time reflecting on this question. Style comes with time and is a difficult thing to force. I think more important than style is being aware of the literal nature of the image I see and striving to go beyond that in an aesthetic way to create a captivating image. I like to refer to myself as a photographic storyteller. Let's face it, images are for a lifetime. It is a moment frozen in time.
